Border Ideas?

I finally finished piecing the center of my circle quilt I started at retreat in February. Any suggestions for borders? I am thinking of a hand dye that reads as solid for a sparkle border and then a fun bright batik that will pull together all the colors for the wider outer border. What do you think?

Cheryl's Four Patch Posey

This is Cheryl's Four Patch Posey Quilt. Cheryl is the wonderful owner of The Quilted Pearl in Columbia, SC. She was so fabulous to let me quilt this for her. When I brought it back to her, I left with three more quilts! Thanks so much, Cheryl!
Here are some detail shots of the individual quilting around each of the flower blocks...

The quilt had large areas of solid black for some fun designing. I quilted three flowers and a funky feather/vine around each... what do you think?

This view of the back highlights the texture and design running through the sashing.

Thanks again, Cheryl, for the opportunity to quilt your gorgeous quilt!

Mary McIndoe's Circle Quilt

Isn't this quilt so warm and gorgeous? Mary McIndoe made this quilt using the circle templates from Elisa's Backporch Designs. She started quite a trend at the February retreat... Laurie and I were both working on one becuase we were so inspired by this beauty!

The coolest thing is that Mary allowed me to quilt it for her! We worked together to come up with a design for the quilting. Below is an image of the design idea in pencil and paper...
and here is the finished design in thread and fabric...
Pretty cool, huh? I used Superior Threads King Tut in Crushed Grapes.I think the Hobb's Heirloom batting really helps the texture stand out. Thanks, Mary, for letting me play a part in this beautiful quilt!
